Similarly, when you use one of the share buttons on our website, a cookie may be set by the service you have chosen to share content through. Social Media - We do not collect any type of personal data from any social media stream for marketing purposes. If we become aware of a complaint through social media we will address the complaint in accordance with the Trucklink complaints process set out in this policy.

People who use our services

Below are a few examples of the marketing and business activities that we may carry out and which we would use your consented personal data for:

Marketing Activities - Competitions or promotions, subscriptions to one of our services, requests for an audit, completion of a survey, enquiry or register for one of our events.

We collect this information in a number of ways, including via telephone, written correspondence, email, websites and contractual agreements.

Business Activities - Where enquiries are submitted to us we will only use the information supplied to us to deal with the enquiry, fulfil your transport needs, such as track and trace items through our systems and to check on the level of service we provide.


International data transfers

Information that we collect may be stored and processed in and transferred between any of the countries in which we operate in order to enable us to use the information in accordance with this privacy policy.


Information which you provide may be transferred to countries which do not have data protection laws equivalent to those in force in the European Economic Areas (EEA), if this is the case we will ensure that the data transfer happens in a secure, protected environment, in accordance with existing UK and EU data protection legislation.


Your rights

Your rights are important to us, if you wish to; access, update, restrict, remove, object to or no longer want to hear from us please contact us by e-mail or in writing to the address below and we will take action within 28 days to make sure the appropriate steps are taken to ensure we fulfil your request.


When we receive a complaint from a person we make up a file containing the details of the complaint. This normally contains the identity of the complainant and any other individuals involved in the complaint.

We will only use the personal information we collect to process the complaint and to check on the level of service we provide. We will keep personal information contained in complaint files in line with our company retention policy. This means that information relating to a complaint will be retained in accordance with our retention policy from closure. It will be retained in a secure environment and access to it will be restricted according to the ‘need to know’ principle.
