Celebrating VE Day 75 at Home

VE DAY 75

Friday 8 May 2020 marks 75 years since Nazi Germany's formal surrender at the end of the Second World War.

On VE (Victory in Europe) Day in 1945, millions took to the streets to celebrate peace after years of devastating war.

Sadly, plans to hold traditional street parties across England to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War have been delayed as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak, however there are still lots of ways you get involved and show your support in marking the day, we are encouraging everyone to mark the anniversary with their own VE Day celebration at home, and our VE Day 75 colouring pages and recipes help you do just that!

At 11am, a two-minute silence will be held to honour the service and sacrifice of the wartime generation and reflect on the devastating impact Covid-19 has had on so many lives across the world.
